ABOUT ME

’Wasted Youth’ is about growing up as a teenager. Myself & my friends would meet up after school on a Friday and we’d all go to a hill & look over our town & see all the lights, play music, mess around and make the best memories.
Those were the best days of my life, so I just had to make a song about it! When we are young we are kind of like rebels, we have no fear or responsibilities, we live in the moment and that’s what I really wanted to capture in the lyrics of this song. Michael Rice is a 23 year old singer songwriter from the U.K. Michael’s early career started out with him being a busker performing on streets to passer by’s, but it was only when a video of him singing went viral across social media, that he was spotted & invited to audition for a new BBC singing show ‘All Together Now’. Michael went on to become the first ever winner of the hit TV show, landing him the opportunity to represent the UK at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. His song ‘bigger than us’ went on to hit the charts in Sweden, Denmark as well as landing him his first UK iTunes Top 10 single. Since then, Michael has been traveling to many countries such as Sweden, The Netherlands, Switzerland, working with some of the best producers and songwriters in the industry on his new music, also him as an artist. During February 2021, michael flew out to Russia to take part in the hit tv show ‘Come on, All Together now’. Michael sailed through the rounds and landed him self in the grand finale securing him as one of the top vocal finalists.Michael is really excited to be working with huge global company on a new exciting music project which is going to be
revealed and launched worldwide during 2021.
